With their handmade Bill Moll seven-string archtop guitars, Rick and John entered Jimmy Czak's legendary studio, Nola Recording. Czak, a masterful recording engineer, has one of the finest recording studios in the country. He has such great ears! Jimmy recalled the session in a phone conversation saying, "The two played so hard it was difficult to tell them apart." None of this would have happened without Bucky Pizzarelli's and Bill Bay's vision of Rick's proposal as a "doable" recording session. With the addition of the magnificent drummer Tony Tedesco and Martin Pizzarelli to the session, Haydon & Pizzarelli have given us a CD that not only pays tribute to the masters, but presents a great conversation between two fine guitarists.
