The very popular Creole Rice Yerba Buena Jazz Band is based in New Orleans, but carries the Classic Jazz message to many parts of the world. By including Yerba Buena in his band's title, Gauthe acknowledges a sincere admiration for the original Yerba Buena Jazz Band, led, a half century ago, by the late San Francisco jazzman, Lu Watters.
