Down Home Jazz Band
Strut Miss Lizzie
Down Home Jazz Band Home Page
Down Home Jazz BandThe  very popular recording band, Down Home Jazz Band, pairs down  to five players on two-thirds of the selections on this CD -  taking its cue from Lu Watters' five-piece band at Hambone  Kelly's in 1950. The other eight tracks add John Gill,  trombone and Carl Lunsford, banjo. The tunes were selected  from Lu Watters' manuscrpits by clarinetist Bob Helm who  recalls fittingly rousing treatment, much as Lu and Bob did  in 1950!
