The Down Home Jazz Band, one of Stomp Off's most acclaimed and best selling bands, here in its eighth recording, returns to the eight-piece line-up, spotlighting the great trumpet/cornet tandem of Chris Tyle and Bob Shulz. Veteran Bob Helm, clarinet, and trombonist John Gill complete a front line that assures a Lu Watters' Yerba Buena sound, augmented by a rare recording appearance of Robin Wetterau, remembered for his long stints with Gene Mayl's Dixieland Rhythm Kings and the Great Pacific Jazz Band. This is real "West Coast" stuff, rock solid, great tunes.
